It was reported on Thursday that bandits abducted 27 Kagara students in Niger state, And reports today says that the abducted students and staffs has been released. Despite the fact that the military could have gone into the forest and engaged in gun battle with the bandits in order to destroy then and free the children, but they couldn't. Ex DSS director today explained why such can't happen.
Mr Dennis Amachree, a former DSS director stated that the military can't go into the forest and engage in gun battle with the bandits. He also gave reasons for that. According to him the bandits can use the children and staffs as gun shield if they are attacked. He stated that there would be a lot of collateral damage If the military would do such.
The former director also expressed displeasure over the security measures put in place in schools, which also includes that of Kagara school because according to him, the school fences are all fallen with no functional gates put in place.
