Erik ten Hag puts SEVEN Man United stars up for sale to fund summer spending

Erik ten Hag is willing to sell seven Manchester United stars this summer to fund moves for a central striker and a central midfielder. United spent £220m last summer, which was nearly £100m more than the club had budgeted for. Though United look set to finish in the top four and are on course for a successful season, finances are tight and the club are wary of complying with Financial Fair Play rules. It leaves little wriggle room for United but Ten Hag’s rebuild cannot afford to lose momentum and he wants a top centre forward – such as Harry Kane or Victor Osimhen – and a central midfielder.

And the Daily Mirror reports that seven players are likely to be chopped as Ten Hag savagely rids United of its deadwood. The seven names on the chopping block cost United a combined £253m in transfer fees. And while Ten Hag knows the players will only generate a fraction of that, he will reportedly listen to offers for the septet to generate additional transfer funds.

The reports claim that the Red Devils boss is hoping to make space and raise funds for summer transfers, and as part of that, it’s claimed as many as seven will be put up for sale. Out-of-favour senior stars Harry Maguire and Anthony Martial are said to be two of the players, while Alex Telles, Donny van de Beek, Eric Bailly and Brandon Williams are also said to be on the list.
