According to the news published by Punch Newspaper, Rilwan Akanbi, a former senator who represented the Oyo South Senatorial District, claims that Peter Obi's fans, also known as Obidients, are not aiding him in any way and are getting worse every day.
Because of his performance in the polls, which had the potential to shift the country's political landscape, he claimed to have recognized Peter Obi as one of the game changers in the presidential race after the 2023 election.
In the Vanguard story, he claimed that Obi's recent statements and deeds are making him look foolish and that his followers aren't helping matters either.
The APC leader suggested that Obi learn from Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who finished second in the presidential race but maintained composure while pursuing his case at the election petition tribunal.
'His followers, the Obidients, do not seem to help issue either, since they are by the day becoming more wild and abusive,' he claimed. The cause of Mr Peter Obi won't benefit from this. If political caution is not exercised, it will also harm his potential political career. Peter Obi must pay close attention to and understand how Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president, and the majority of his supporters—who even finished second in the race—are conducting themselves throughout the transition period.
"Atiku is a veteran politician, and you can see the measured calmness with which he is following the political and judicial scenarios."
