Congratulations! Your partner is pregnant, this means that your main job is to be the leader of the support team. After all, pregnancy requires you to start getting proactive. She’s sailing the ship, but you are the entire crew.
Fret not, it’s not as much pressure as it might sound like at first. All it takes is honing your powers of observation and intuition while capitalizing on the skills you already have. While you’re supporting your pregnant wife, you might also want to prepare yourself for fatherhood if you’re new to parenting.
In this article, we discuss 5 things not to allow your wife do while pregnant and explain why they can be problematic:
1- Physical work
As your wife progresses in her pregnancy, ordinary life gets more difficult for her. That’s the easiest way to put it. If this is a shock to you, imagine carrying a 15 to 30-pound fanny pack around all the time, and maybe you’ll get the idea. Oh, and not only is she carrying around more and more weight by the day, but she also has tiny limbs poking into the spaces where her lungs, stomach, and bladder used to be. Yeah, it’s not comfortable.
This means you do more and more of the physical work around the house. Do the laundry, the dishes, the heavy lifting. Once she gets into the third trimester, she’s going to need help just getting off the couch. You might even need to adjust how you share the bed since her changing body is making it pretty hard for her to get comfortable.
2- Never Allow her take energy drinks
Do we really need to explain? Do you need Red Bull to give your baby wings? Energy drinks and pregnancy don’t mix. Don't allow it.
A 16-ounce energy drink can contain 240 milligrams of caffeine, not to mention a bunch of other stimulants your growing fetus definitely does not need.
3- Drugs, alcohol and cigarettes
All three of these bad habits have proven to cause birth defects, developmental impairment and health issues for baby and mom. Even partaking in alcohol just once can have dire consequences.
4- Dont all her get tattoos and piercings during this period
Because being pregnant makes you much more susceptible to infections, tattoos and piercings are out. Many antibiotics are off the table when you’re pregnant, so clearing up an infection could become a major problem.
5- Don't allow her skip prenatal visits
Make doctors' visits a priority for her during this time. Avoiding them may mean that she misses something very important regarding the health of your developing baby.
Men of the world need to treat their pregnant wife better than they have ever treated them. They need to wait on them hand and foot. No favour should be too much to ask. How a man treats his pregnant partner can be an indication of how good a father he will be. Did I miss anything? Is there anything else that men need to do for their pregnant wives?
