3 Things You Can Do to Your Child's Computer/Smartphone Display to Help Protect His/Her Eyes

Parents need to be watchful of whatever their children are using or playing with to protect them. Nowadays, many parents are buying smartphones and/or computer for their children without changing all the necessary settings to make it safe for them to use. Adjusting the display settings of your child's smartphone or computer can help reduce eye strain and fatigue. Some of the most important adjustments that a parent should do on their children's digital device are as follows:

1. Brightness

Adjust the display's brightness to match the brightness of your surrounding workstation as closely as possible. Examine the white backdrop of this Website page as an example. It's excessively bright if it resembles a light source. It could be too dark if it appears drab and gray.

2. Contrast and text size

When reading or writing long papers, adjust the text size and contrast for comfort. In most cases, a black print on a white background is the most comfortable combination.

3. Color temperature

This is a technical term that refers to the visible light spectrum emitted by a color display. Blue light is a type of visible light with a short wavelength that causes more eye strain than longer wavelength colours like orange and red. Reduce the quantity of blue light emitted by your screen by lowering the color temperature for better long-term visual comfort.

What are you waiting for? Call your child now, collect his or her smartphone, look for these settings and set them accordingly. This way, you are not only protecting your child's eyes, you are also taking care of your family.
