Woman infertility refers to the inability of a woman getting pregnant. Treatment for infertility depends mostly on the cause and your goals. Your age, how long you’ve been trying to conceive and your personal preferences are factors in deciding on a treatment. Sometimes, one person needs treatment, but other times, treatment involves both partners.
According to Healthline, the following are the causes of infertility in women:
1. Smoking
2. Ageing
3. Hormonal imbalance
4. Blockage of the Fallopian Tube
5. Fibroid
6. Menopause
7. Ovulation problem
8. Female reproductive cancer
Symptoms
1. Miscarriage
2. Inability to get pregnant
3. Painful periods
4. Pain during sexual intercourse
5. Abnormal and irregular periods
Diagnosis
A diagnosis of infertility means you haven’t been able to get pregnant after a year of trying. If you’re a woman over 35, it means you haven’t been able to get pregnant after 6 months of trying. Women who are able to conceive but not carry a pregnancy to term may also be diagnosed with infertility. A woman who’s never been able to get pregnant will be diagnosed with primary infertility. A woman who’s had at least one successful pregnancy in the past will be diagnosed with secondary infertility.
