Swelling is a common side effect of pregnancy, especially when it comes to your feet and hands. But there’s one area that can also swell during pregnancy that doesn’t get a lot of attention: your female reproductive organ.
According to Healthline, having swollen reproductive organ during pregnancy may start as early as your first trimester. This could be because your uterus and baby are getting larger and applying more pressure to the area. Occasionally, this swelling is caused by infection. If vaginal swelling is accompanied by redness, burning, and itching, contact your doctor.

Use of certain products may also result in swelling of your reproductive organ. These products may trigger an allergic reaction in your vaginal region, leading to inflammation and redness. Upon baby's arrival, the size of your reproductive organ should retract to their previous size with decreased blood flow; for some women, it may even shrink a bit more.
