Having one miscarriage after another can be emotionally draining. However, despite having repeated miscarriages, it has been observed that the majority of women continue to have children especially when there is no known explanation for the miscarriage.

Recurrent miscarriage or recurrent pregnancy loss occurs when a woman has three or more miscarriages in a row. If you've had this happen to you, you should see a gynecologist immediately. However, there is no direct cause for a miscarriage but there are several health factors that can trigger it and they include;

1 Genes

 Your genes may be to blame for a string of miscarriages. Miscarriages can occur if your or your partner's chromosomes have an anomaly. This condition is usually discovered after the kid is born, and he or she inherits it.

2 Thrombophilia

One of the causes of recurrent miscarriages is thrombophilia. This is a blood-clotting disorder caused by a genetic mutation that causes blood to clot in the blood arteries.

3 Physical anomalies

This is a condition in which your uterus is divided into two compartments by a septum. This is also a potential cause of miscarriage.

How to increase your chances of getting pregnant with recurrent miscarriage

1 Surgery

A septate uterus can be treated surgically, and certain fibroids and scar tissue anomalies can be removed. Surgical correction is commonly the therapy of choice for anatomical abnormalities because it increases the number of live births.

2 Genetic Counseling

The main goal of counselling is to empower you and make you feel good about yourself. It entails persuading the couple to make a joint decision on conception. Excessive exercise and strenuous activities are prohibited when you're pregnant, sexual activity is also discouraged, especially in the first and third trimesters.
