It's never too late to visit a foreign country, start a new career or learn a new skill. However, let's be honest. There are a lot of things you should accomplish before you turn 30. I have a better understanding of what's important in your 20s. At least, in my opinion. Here are five things you should accomplish before you turn 30:
1. Become debt free.
Debt such as credit cards and student loans can bog you down as you get older. These monthly payments can even prevent you from buying a new car or paying a mortgage.
Pay down the debts as soon as you can before you have more responsibilities. Get rid of the debt, as this will allow you to start things later in life.
2. Start saving money.
There's no easy way to say this, but you need to get in the habit of saving money. And the sooner you do that, the better. Putting away a little money is better than putting nothing away. Save 10-20% of each paycheck. If you can't do that, start with 5%. Saving money helps you achieve financial freedom in the future.
3. Create something.
No matter if you consider yourself creative or not, everyone can create something from scratch, and you won't know what you're capable of until you give it a shot. Maybe you'll discover a talent for pottery, painting, songwriting, or maybe you'll start that novel you've been wanting to write for years and find that the words come easily to you. You never know until you try.
4. Break a bad habit.
Make it your mission to stop the habit that is causing you the most harm, whether it is mental or physical before you enter your thirties. Whatever the bad habit you may have, the longer you do it for, the harder it will be to break so my advice would be to do not delay!
5. Organize your time effectively.
Proper time management becomes critical when you are responsible for both leading a task at work and making sure the kids are off to school on time. Make sure that you can manage your time well before you have those responsibilities.
