I personally, am a wildlife lover. I thought it would be nice for me to share with you the list of wild animals you didn't Know existed in Nigeria.
Giant forest hogs
Red river hogs
Mountain reed bucks
Royal fish eagles
Mostly of these in Gashaka Gumpti park Taraba state, Nigeria.
Nigeria national park service is currently estimated to manage 7 national parks all over the country, the parks total 22,206km2 conservation area out of Nigeria’s 923,769km2 which is about 3% total land mass of the country. Nigeria is a safe haven to some highly endangered species of wildlife. Nigerians need to appreciate the importance of these wildlife and the need to protect them because they contribute a quota to the nations economy. Nigerians need to stop the hunting and consumption of bush meat and try to rely on agricultural alternatives and source of animal protein like fishery, rabbitery and grass cutter farming to eliminate the extinction threat on some of the wild life species. Also Nigerians need to know that deforestation of reserved areas is also a contributory factor to the well being of the countries wild life.
