Reasons Why the Early Men Enjoyed a Safe and Conducive Environment More than the Present Generation.
Several questions have been raised on whether there are common yardsticks that could be used to compare the orientation-driven planning of the past and the legislation of the present. It remains a puzzle that what was accomplished, if not surpassed with virtually nothing in the past is far from been realized today with almost everything.
To a layman – "there were only a few families and persons inhabiting those enclaves. No undue pressure was exerted on the available local facilities and infrastructures." But now that we have all these things in our towns and cities including a myriad of relevant professions and all manners of laws policies etc; the question is
Early men
How planned are our towns and cities?
How safe and conducive is our present abode and environments? Etc.
Having a deep examination of the above two questions, one will quickly observe that there is no meeting point between the orientation-driven planning of the past and the sophistication of the present. Dr. Iyke Ozigbo in one of his lectures pointed out the reasons why there is no meeting point between the two. According to him, this is so because; apart from the fact that they were only a few families inhabiting the enclaves and no undue pressure was exerted on the available local facilities and infrastructures. The early men had strict rules guiding where they lived, where they farmed, where they traded, where they reared animals, where they held meetings and gatherings, where they held meetings and gatherings, where they discarded refuse, where they worshiped, where they buried their dead ones, where they recreated, where they defecated, where they reserved or preserved, etc. There where scarcely any contravention of these provisions attributed mainly to discipline, decorum, orientation, and quite a light and very easily controllable population. This way, they were able to get on safely and happily within their enclaves and domains, thereby enjoying the essential attributes of workability, functionality, protectability, and conductibility.
Today environmental problem
Now that we have almost everything at our disposal. What then is the problem? One is better placed to judge a better appraisal of the periods.
But, having conducted a rough but guide appraisal of the two periods, I think the problem is the goal of the present generation. The goal of the present generation is to achieve economic prosperity, thereby failing to strive harder to improve the lives of the population, maintain workability, functionality, protectability, and conductibility. There is no doubt that many problems have occurred because of the increased population. But there are myriads of relevant Laws, Policies, Rules, Enactments, Statutes, Edicts, Ordinances, Regulations, Requirements, Guidelines, Several do’s and don’ts, etc., been created and enacted to regulate and maintain the above problems. But, the question is, how are the present population abiding by the above requirements?
Until we strive harder for the interest of the population, they will never be a meeting point between the simplicity of the past and sophistication of the present.
