If You Do Any Of These 3 Things, Then You Need To Deworm

Deworming is the process of expelling intestinal worms or parasitic worms from the body by administering an anthelmintic medicine/drug.

In more simple terms, it is a medicated process to kill worms.

Why is Deworming Important?

Parasitic worms can lead to malnutrition. Deworming tablets allows people to absorb the critical nutrients needed to be and stay healthy.

Parasitic worms and their larvae are generally found in contaminated food and water in poor communities or areas where cleaning does not frequently happen.

Those who walk without wearing any socks or shoes in high-risk areas are most likely to contract worms.

Risk factors for intestinal parasites include living in or visiting an area known to have parasites, poor sanitation, poor hygiene, exposure to child and institutional care centers, and having a weakened immune system.

House pets are another major source of parasites. Many owners don't realize that after petting their pets, they should wash their hands.

Pets have particular grooming habits that often involve licking their fur. Many times, parasites and their eggs will be on the fur.

Lack of appetite, tiredness, anaemia, fever, itchy bottom, loose bowels, abdominal pain and vomiting are some of the common symptoms of worm infestation.

However, if you (or the kids) do these things you should deworm often, here are some of them:

Walk barefoot

Walking barefoot where there’s grass is one of the sure ways of getting worm infestation. If by any chance you walk barefoot often, you should take time out to deworm.

Drink untreated water

If you drink untreated water or not sure of the source (of the water)- which is not healthy- you should deworm often as this is a way worm enters the body which can end up damaging one’s health and in some cases could be fatal.

Drinking milk often is another way (rare cases) worm can be introduced into the body so if you drink all sorts of milk every time, it’s best to deworm often.

Here Are 4 Home Remedies to Deworm Yourself

1. Raw Papayas

Take 1 Tbsp of fresh raw papaya juice, add 3-4 Tbsp hot water and a drizzle of honey. Drink it early morning on an empty stomach.

Grind papaya seeds into a fine powder and have it with a glass of warm water or milk.

2. Lotus stem

Extract 2 Tbsp juice from fresh lotus roots and have it along with a drizzle of honey on an empty stomach, early in the morning.

3. Garlic

It possesses anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. One can consume 1-2 garlic cloves empty stomach to get rid of the worms.

4. Coconut

Not everybody knows the health benefits of coconut. A tablespoon of crushed coconut in your breakfast can immensely help in the deworming process.
