The presidency has clarified the statement by the president during his interview with Arise TV. The controversial statement was thought to be about the Leader of the ruling party, APC.
President Mohammadu Buhari made a statement concerning the zoning in APC where he said that no single person can decide for the party on zoning.
The presidency has clarified that the statement is not targeted at Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Speculations had it that President Buhari while answering questions on the zoning in All Progressives Party (APC), referred to Tinubu when he responded that someone cannot be in Lagos and decide on the fate of APC on zoning.
The presidency, through the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, has clarified the public on the statement. In a statement released, the presidency distance Buhari from the misinterpretation of his speech to bring enmity between him and the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
As contained in the statement, he said that the misinterpretation is a mischievous way to drag the President into disagreements.
Our resolve is to keep the party as one.
