The issue of deciding the next president of Nigeria has so far raised various ideologies and opinions from many people, and one of such people who responded to this subject is the spokesman of the northern elders forum, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed.

The spokesman of the forum who responded towards the fact that southern governors were stressing the need for the next president to emerge from the southern region said they will not accept a second class position because they could simply buy forms and contest first class and win due to their population.
It's important to say that the northern elders forum made a mistake by making such a statement to the public, and this is because of the fact that it could be misinterpreted by the majority of people and may eventually lead to more challenges, which the country is already fighting to overcome.
So far, this response from Hakeem Baba-Ahmed has brought the attention of not only some of the politicians in the nation, but others, where they have openly criticized and condemned such a statement.

For instance, according to a verified source, a Yoruba monarch, Gani Adams, drew meaning into what the northern elders forum said, where he revealed that the statement which was made by the forum is capable of setting Nigeria on fire, and this could be the thoughts of some Nigerians.
Making such a statement could also be a mistake, considering the fact that it has to do with a leadership position, as it probably shows an absence of humility, which should never be the case because humility will always be the bedrock of building a leader to lead a nation, and this is what the nation needs, irrespective of the region.
