Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed has spoken concerning Dr. Mahmud Tukur who recently passed away. Dr. Hakeem eulogized the deceased Ex-minister while discussing some of his impacts and contributions to the Northern part of Nigeria and the academic world. Hakeem also acknowledged Turkur’s influence on President Muhammadu Buhari.
The demise of Mahmud Tukur was recently announced, condolences and eulogies have since emerged from different quarters concerning the deceased.
For people who may not know, Mahmud Tukur was a Nigerian politician and former minister for Commerce and Industry during the administration of Muhammadu Buhari as Head of state. Turkur was also Vice Chancellor (VC) of Bayero University in Kano State.Describing the deceased Dr. Hakeem said, “Dr Mahmud Tukur who just died was one of the North’s great intellectuals.He was quietly powerful and a great influence on Northern politics and President Muhammadu Buhari. He was a great defender of the interests of the North.May Allah grant him Aljanna.“
Speaking further Dr. Hakeem added that Tukur was 'intensely private', yet he made huge contributions to scholarship.
