Mr Ozigbo had suffered a setback when his name was not among the list of names INEC released on July 16 because his rival, Mr Ugochukwu Uba was also claiming to be the party's candidate. Meanwhile, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) has reported that Abuja Court of Appeal ordered INEC to list him as the rightful PDP candidate.

Going straight to the point, why Ozigbo said his candidacy is divine.
Mr Ozigbo may have described his candidacy as divine because he believed that it was due to God's intervention he was restored to participate in the election, after the PDP was entirely prohibited from taking part in the election by the Court. According to him, it is the PDP's election to win and by God's grace, the party will march to the government house, stressing that it is time for the PDP to show the Ndi Anambra the way to go.

Ozigbo, who along with his running mate, Mrs Azuka Enemo, was received by a crowd, described the Appeal Court judgement, which affirmed him as the ordained PDP candidate, as a beginning of a new era in Anambra State.
