First section of second Niger bridge halfway completed

The second Niger bridge is halfway standing in this first section of the bridge.

The second Niger bridge is a key national infrastructure with immense socio-economic benefits for the contiguous States and indeed the entire nation.

Upon it's completion, the bridge will ease the flow of traffic, improve road safety and by advancing the immediate area and regenerating economic development.

The scope of works include the construction of 1.6km long bridge, 10.3 km highway, owerri interchange and a toll station.

The second Niger bridge is a Nigerian federal government project that was initiated under the administration of good luck Jonathan and is being currently continued by the president Muhammadu Buhari led administration.

The second Niger bridge which is expected to be ready for opening in 2022, will span across Onitsha, Asaba to ozubulu, Atani and ogbaru areas.

The engineering contractor handling the construction of the second Niger bridge Julius Berger Nigeria PLC has assured prompt delivery of the work at the projected time.

The project which costs a whooping 206 billion naira have become more progressive than ever imagined.
