Africa is arguably one of the most blessed continents in the World. The continent is blessed with so many human and natural resources. It is quite unfortunate that despite all these natural and human resources Africa remains one of the poorest and under-developed continents in the world. The conventional age of retirement for workers in most African countries is 60years, its quite unfortunate that some of the African leaders are far beyond the retirement age. Below are the top 5 oldest Presidents in Africa:

1) Paul Biya - Cameroon(88years):

Paul Biya is currently the President of the Republic of Cameroon. He was born on 13 February 1933. He is currently 88 years old. Paul Biya has been the President of Cameroon since 1982 till date.

2) Manuel Pinto da CostaSão Tomé and Príncipe(83years):

Born on August 5, 1937, Manuel Pinto da Costa was 83 years old when He was re-elected President. He served as president of São Tomé and Príncipe from 1975 to 1991. He was elected again as President in August 2011 and assumed office in September 2011.

3. Alpha Condé – Guinea(83years):

Born on 4th March 1938, He is currently the President of Guinea. Alpha Conde has been the President of Guinea Since 2010 till date.

4. Alassane Ouattara – Ivory Coast(79years):

Born on January 1st, 1942 Alassane Ouattara has been the President of Ivory Coast from 2010 till date.

5) Muhammadu Buhari – Nigeria(78years)

Born on 17 December 1942 Muhammadu Buhari served as President of Nigeria from 1983-1985. He was later re-elected again in 2015.
