6.Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO)
The University which is bounded by the communities of Eziobodo, Umuchima, Ihiagwa and Obinze, in Imo State, Nigeria sits on 4,048 hectares of land.
5.Ahmadu Bello University
Ahmadu Bello University Zaria is a federal government research university in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria and was founded on 4 October 1962. ABU has a landmass of about 7,000 hectares.
4. Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta
The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State (FUNAAB ) was established on 1 January 1988 by the Federal Government. The landmass of FUNAAB is about 10,000 hectares.
3. University of Abuja
It was established on January 1, 1988 as a dual-mode university with the mandate to run conventional and distance learning programmes. It landmass is about 11,824 hectares.
2. Obafemi Awolowo University
Obafemi Awolowo University, formerly known as University of Ife, is a federal government owned and operated Nigerian university. The university is in the ancient city of Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria.
It is the second largest university in Nigeria in terms of landmass with an area of about 13,000 hectares.
1. University of Ilorin
University of Ilorin, also known as Unilorin, is a federal government-owned university in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. It was established by a Decree of the Federal Military Government in August, 1975.
The landmass of the University of Ilorin is about 15,000 hectares and this makes it the largest university in Nigeria in terms of land mass.
