Results of the election: Kenneth Okonkwo on why going to court is a complete waste of time.
Kenneth Okonkwo, a veteran actor from Nigeria and spokesperson for the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Committee, has explained why contesting the results of the presidential election in court is a complete waste of time.
Remember that the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, had instructed parties unhappy with the outcome of the presidential election to challenge it in court if they weren't satisfied.
In response to INEC's delay in uploading the election results to the election results viewing portal, Dino Melaye, an agent for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and other parties staged a walkout at the national collation centre in Abuja on Monday (IRev).
This prompted Okonkwo to respond on his Twitter account on Tuesday, writing: "Any Nigerian who thinks he will get justice in a court against a Muslim-Muslim ticket forced upon Nigerians in a country where the President, Vice President, Senate President, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, National Chairman of the Party, and the Chief Justice of Nigeria were Muslim is ignorant of the Machina treatment.
Some foolish Christians think they will receive justice from a government that cannot provide justice to poor Muslims like Bashir Machina, he questioned.
