One local Government Area In Kaduna Is Three Times The Size Of Lagos - El-Rufai Caims

The Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has claimed that one local government area in his state is three times the size of Lagos.

While making this claim to explain the security situation in Kaduna State, he named Birnin Gwari as the local government area that is three times the size of Lagos.

The governor stated this at the inaugural edition of the Fountain Summit organised by the Ekiti State government in Ado-Ekiti, on Thursday.

According to him, some areas in his state are almost ungovernable because of the size and inadequate police

In his words “So there are many ungovernable spaces in our state. But you see, when an incident occurs in one part of the state, remotely connected with what is happening in Kaduna or Zaria or in the metropolitan centres, people think the entire Kaduna State is unsafe. It is not true. Kaduna is not Lagos. One local government area in Kaduna — Birnin Gwari local government area — is three times the size of Lagos State."

Meanwhile, Kaduna State and other Northwest states have been battling with banditry for the past months.
