The next PDP Governorship candidate in Osun Governorship Polls will be determined by who controls the Party, that is The Party Executives. The Party Executives is the only body that could determine who will take the mantle of Leadership in Osun state after the completion of tenure of Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

It should be recalled that the next Governorship Polls conducted between Governor Gboyega Oyetola of All Progressives Congress and Senator Ademola Adeleke the candidate of the Peoples Democratic party PDP but the election was declared inconclusive and.rerun election was conducted.

It was the intervention of the former Deputy Governor of Osun State Otunba Iyiola Omisore that helped Gboyega Oyetola to win the Governorship election. Though both the Peoples Democratic party PDP and the All Progressives Congress APC were romancing Otunba Iyiola Omisore before he finally dance to the tunes of APC.

Ever since that time the Peoples Democratic party PDP has been facing one or two challenges concerning who is going to be the Leader of the Party in the state. During the 2018 Governorship Polls, The former state chairman of the Party, Soji Adagunodo was indicted of corrupt Practices, financially and also was accused of collaborating with opposition Party in the State.

When the investigation was done by the national working committee of the Party, it was fond to be true and Adagunodo was told to step aside. But before he stepped aside, his vice chairman, Sunday Atidade was told to act as chairman of the Party.

It was Adeleke's Dynasty that sponsored the Party before, during and after the crisis. Adeleke's dynasty headed by Dr Deji Adeleke has spent stupendously for the Party. Adeleke gave several monies to the embattled former chairman of the Party, Soji Adagunodo to maintain the party and to ensure that his Brother, Senator Ademola Adeleke won the Governorship Polls in 2018.
