Meet All The Governors That Could Not Attend Southern Governors' Meeting In Enugu

All the governors from the Southern part of Nigeria meet in Enugu on Thursday to discuss the challenges and solutions to the problems facing the region and the entire nation. 

Unfortunately, out of the 17 governors in the region, only nine Governors were present at the meeting, seven Governors were represented by the Deputy Governors, while a Governor refused to attend and also refused to send a representative.

Meet The Governors That Was Represented By Deputy Governors

SOUTH-WEST

1. Governor Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti State)

The Ekiti State Governor wasn't at today's meeting, although he sent a representative. Fayemi was represented by his Deputy, Bisi Egbeyemi.


2. Governor Seyi Makinde (Oyo State)

Another Governor who failed to appear at the meeting from the Southwest region. Seyi Makinde, like the Ekiti State was represented by his Deputy, Rauf Olaniyan.

Therefore, out of the six Governors from the Southwest region, four were at the meeting while the remaining two were represented.


SOUTH-EAST

1. Hope Uzodinma (Imo State)

Mr. Hope didn't attend the Southern Governors' meeting even though he wasn't there when the governors met in Lagos State.

Today, he was represented by his Deputy, Placid Njoku.


2. Governor David Nweze Umahi (Ebonyi State)

The Chairman of the South-east Governors' Forum, David Umahi is another Governor from the South-East who wasn't at the meeting. Although he was represented by Kelechi Igwe.


3. Governor Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia State)

Mr. Ikpeazu also failed to appear at the meeting but was also represented by Ude Oko-Chukwu, his Deputy.


4. Governor Willie Obiano (Anambra State)

The Anambra State governor is the only governor who didn't attend the meeting and refused to send a representative.

Therefore, the South-East only has the host Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in attendance at the meeting. Four out of five Governors were absent.

SOUTH-SOUTH

1. Governor Godwin Obaseki (Edo State)

Philip Shuaibu was at the meeting, representing Governor Obaseki as the governor failed to attend in person.


2. Governor Benedict Ayade (Cross River)

The Cross River Governor is the last governor who wasn't in Enugu today for the Southern Governors' meeting. He was represented by his Deputy, Ivara Esu.

Like the South-West region, South-South had four out of the six Governors from the region in attendance, while the remaining two were represented by their Deputies.
