Alhasan Doguwa, the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, has replied to claims that he is unfit to succeed Femi Gbajabiamila as speaker because of his high temperament and unpredictable conduct. He claimed that since he started working at the House, he had behaved impolitely on a number of occasions.
The House of Representatives, representing Tudun/Wada, continued by saying that the fact that he has four wives, and is a father of 28 children, with whom he coexists peacefully, then, it all speaks volumes about his leadership abilities and justifies his right to be the speaker.
In his words – “Even as Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, I did not exhibit any high temperament. For those who refer to me as a high-level temperamental person, they have misperceived Ado Doguwa, the man who has four wives and 28 children. I have never had a divorce. That shows I have what it takes to excel as the next speaker. I will be a carpet for Nigerians to march or walk on."
