Chuks Akunna, executive director, authority newspaper, said that if the federal government flew 100 bags of rice from Nigeria to Sudan, how much is the rice in Sudan that they can't buy it in Sudan?
Chuks Akunna asked the rhetorical question in an interview with AIT during the Kakaaki program when he was asked to air his view on what he thinks about who become the next senate president.
Chuks Akunna began by saying that he does not really care or have interest in who become the next president because to him those who are jostling for the senate presidency or speaker is because, they are going there to steal. He said we should be more concerned about the situation of the country, like how much debt we owe, the value of the naira etc.
Chuks Akunna recounted that yesterday NEMA said that they flew 100 bags of rice to Sudan and 50 bags of rice to people who were stranded. He said the question is, "Isn't the priority of the government is to bring them back home? What's the sense? The cost of hauling 100 bags of rice to Sudan is enough to buy the whole rice in Sudan.
"If you fly 100 bags of rice to Sudan, go to court now and tell them you want to carry 50kg of rice times 100 and see. How much is the rice in Sudan that NEMA will spend money to carry it.?"
