The prices of foodstuffs have skyrocketed. Only few privileged persons can afford to buy basic food items which are supplied from the North. This mainly include perishables like tomatoes, onions, pepper, okro, etc.

The Amalgamated Union of Foodstuff and Cattle Dealers of Nigeria (AUFCDN) made the decision to protest the attack on their properties and killing of their members during the EndSARS and Sasha market crisis South-West.
A Yoruba Man, Bayo Adedosu, wrote an open letter pleading with Northerners (Arewa) to lift the ban on food supply from North to South.

In the heart-touching letter, he blamed hoodlums whom he described as "arrogant" and "loquacious" for the attack on Northern properties during EndSARS and Sasha market crisis. Bayo wrote on his Twitter account:
"My Arewa (Northern) brothers and sisters, how are you doing? I am sure you are wondering why I am writing you... to be honest I shouldn't."
The aggrieved Yoruba man continued, "But I am pleading with you to forgive our arrogant and loqacious brethren from the South."
He concluded in pidgin, "Actually na play dem dey play. Abeg send food down. Thanks."
This letter is short, but it encompasses the grievance and pain endured by the people of Southern Nigeria over the strike.
I am deeply saddened and touched by the lamentation in the letter. And I hope it reaches the relevant authorities.
Our governors in the SouthWest should sit down on the roundtable and settle the issue. We can not bear it any longer.
