Dozens of Policemen early this morning surrounded the house of Joi Nunieh, the former MD of NDDC who is to testify before a House of Representatives panel later today as part of the ongoing probe of the Niger Delta Development Commission.
The Policemen according to a tweet by Fisayo Soyombo, a prominent Nigerian Investigative Journalist, arrived at Nunieh's residence at 3 Owuru Creek View, off Herbert Macaulay Street, Old GRA, Port Harcourt at about 4 am Thursday, July 16, 2020.
Though it is yet to be ascertained why and on whose orders the Police Officers were acting on, it is believed that their presence may be to delay or prevent her from leaving her residence to the Port Harcourt International Airport where she will be boarding a flight to Abuja for the hearing.
Joi Nunieh in her recent outburst had accused the Minister of Niger Delta Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment and severally attempting to bribe her and coerce her to take an oath of secrecy which she rejected leading to her removal from office.
However, the Minister has since responded to the allegations through his media aide, Anietie Ekong, by stating that he is contented and happily married to his wife and blessed with four young ladies.
