Akin Osuntokun, the Director General of the Labour Party presidential campaign council, has accused the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) of orchestrating the crisis within the Labour Party.
In an interview with Reuben Abati on City talks, Osuntokun questioned how Lamidi Apapa, the factional chairman of the Labour Party, managed to afford the services of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) for legal representation. He raised doubts about the source of the funds, suggesting that the APC may be behind the financial support.
Osuntokun further claimed that the APC, a party known for having significant financial resources, has a vested interest in destabilizing the Labour Party. He alleged that the APC aims to further its own agenda by interfering in the affairs of the opposition party.
He pointed out that a SAN, who had previously represented the APC in other cases, appeared in court on behalf of the Apapa faction. Osuntokun also mentioned another SAN, Lawrence Onoja, who served both as a lawyer to Arabambi and co and as a member of the APC presidential campaign council, indicating a potential conflict of interest.
