2023: See The Top 5 Likely APC Vice-Presidential Candidates

Following the Clamour by Several Chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to zone the party's 2023 Presidential Ticket to the Southern part of the Country. Some Northern Politicians are already making underground moves to emerge as the party's Vice-presidential Candidate. Notable among them are

1. Mallam Nasir Ahmed El-rufai

El-rufai, 60 is a Chatered Quantity Surveyor, Administrator and Politician who currently serves as Governor of Kaduna State. He assumed Office in May 2015. He came into limelight during General Abdulsalami Abubakar's Military Regime when he served as an Economic Adviser between 1998 and 1999. In 1999, the then President Olusegun Obasanjo appointed as the Director of Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE), a position he held until 2003 and thereafter became the Minister of F.C.T, serving in that capacity till 2007.

2. Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara

Dogara, 53 is a trained Lawyer who was active in Legal Pratice between 1994 and 2005 before his appointment as Special Assistant to the Minister of Transportation, a position he held until 2006. In 2007, he was elected to represent Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency of Bauchi State. Dogara who is presently a Fourth-term won re-elections in 2011, 2015 and 2019. He was the 14th Speaker of the House of Representatives, serving from 2015 to 2019.

3. Rt. Hon. Simon Lalong

Lalong, 57 is a Lawyer turned Politician who is a Second-term Governor of Plateau State. He temporarily discarded Legal Pratice and joined Politics in 1998. Under the PDP platform, He was elected to represent Shendam State Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly in 1999. Lalong became the Speaker of the Assembly in October 2000, serving till 2006, making him the Longest Serving Speaker in the History of Plateau State.

4. Senator Atiku Bagudu

Bagudu, 59 is an Economist turned Politician. He began his political career in 2009 after he won the By-election for Kebbi Central Senatorial Seat following the appointment of his Predecessor, Senator Adamu Aliero as F.C.T Minister. Bagudu won a re-election in 2011 under the same PDP platform, he defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2014. He contested for and won the 2015 Kebbi State Gubernatorial Election under the APC platform, he was re-elected for a Second term in 2019. 

5. Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje

Ganduje, 71 is currently serving his Second-term as Governor of Kano State. He was a Two-term Deputy Governor of Kano State (1999 - 2003 and 2011 - 2015) under the Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso-led Administration. Ganduje also served as Special Adviser to the Minister of Defence from 2003 to 2007.
