During the ARISE TV News Monday morning show, the former Edo State Commissioner for Information, Kassim Afegbua, said that no amount of complaints by the opposition will change the reality that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu won.
In his speech, those three candidates you mentioned are standing on different pedestals: Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was seen before the election as the candidate of the North; Peter Obi was seen as the candidate representing the Christian faith; and the ethnic nationality of the South-East extraction, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was seen as the candidate for Nigeria. "Peter Obi got votes from the southern parts of the country and from areas where there is a population of Christians, like in Adamawa, Tarawa, Plateau, and so on, so you won't allow people that will bring divisiveness into our country to have their way," he stated.
He stated that Tinubu campaigned to all persons the same way they were shouting about the same fate, which is why we think that Tinubu will not even have 10% of the votes, but I told you on this platform that Nigerians should not be detained about religion; they should be concerned about governance and what we are bringing to the table for the well-being of because hunger doesn't know religion, poverty doesn't know religion, and it's not written on your face that because you're a Muslim you can't be poor, or because you're Christian you can't be poor, and all of that.
What's your take on this, dear esteemed readers?
