Women Empowerment: Kwara First Lady Drums Support for Women

The First Lady of Kwara State and Founder Ajike People Support Center Her Excellency Ambassador Dr Olufolake Abdulrazaq has described Women’s economic empowerment as the process of achieving women’s equal access to and control over economic resources, and ensuring that they can use same to exert increased control over other areas of their lives.

Ambassador Abdulrazaq pointed this out at the 13th edition of Arise Women Conference held on Saturday 30th October 2021 at the City of David Lagos.

The First Lady at the event commended the convener of Arise Women Conference Dr. Siju Iluyomade and indeed the entire Women Arise team for the good works of sustaining the conversation on women inclusion and ensuring that women thrive in our society.

On the theme of the conference ’Revive’ Ambassador Abdulrazaq spoke on making sure after the coronavirus pandemic and the lull in economic activities, it was time to revive all activities and get moving. The First Lady used the avenue to encourage people to get vaccinated in order to stem the rise of the disease.

Earlier while speaking on the theme of this year’s conference the Convener Dr. Siju Iluyomade called for action to move the nation forward and urged women to eschew all manners of complaints that can not change anything.

The well attended 13th edition of the conference had in attendance State first ladies, top government functionaries and influential women professionals among others.
