Nigeria targets fuel exportation to neighbouring countries, says Buhari

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has said the realisation of the refinery roadmap that was rolled out two years ago will enable Nigeria to export petroleum products to neighbouring countries and other markets.

Buhari said this on Tuesday at the inauguration of the 5,000 barrels-per-day Waltersmith Modular Refinery and the groundbreaking for a 45,000-bpd plant in Imo State.

Senate to FG: Rebuild destroyed infrastructure in Lagos, Calabar now

The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday called on the Federal Government to urgently reconstruct and rebuild infrastructure destroyed by hoodlums during the #EndSARS protest in Lagos and Calabar.

The upper chamber gave the charge during plenary on Tuesday, following consideration of two separate motions brought to the floor by Senators Biodun Olujimi (PDP – Ekiti South); and Gershom Bassey (PDP – Cross River South).

Coming under Order 42 and 52 of the Senate Rules, Olujimi noted that the #EndSARS protest, began on October 3, 2020, and assumed a global dimension following the alleged shooting of a young Nigerian in Ughelli, Delta State.

BREAKING: CBN retains lending rate at 11.5%

The Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Nigeria has retained the Monetary Policy Rate at 11.5 per cent.

The CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, disclosed this after the committee’s two-day meeting in Abuja on Tuesday.

It also retained the Cash Reserve Ratio and Liquidity Ratio at 27.5 per cent and 30 per cent respectively.

At the last MPC meeting in September, the committee reduced the MPR from 12.5 per cent to 11.5 per cent.

Nigerian roads are of global standard – Fashola

Mr Babatunde Fashola, Minister of Works and Housing, says road construction in the country is carried out based on universal global standard.

Fashola said this while speaking on Tuesday in Abuja on the achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari administration in the transport sector.

“I think we don’t have our standards, roads are constructed to a universal global standard and those standards are not made by Nigeria, they are uniform standards.
