Anambra Election: Nobody Should Test The Resolve Of The Federal Government Through Threats

Come November 6th, the election will take place in Anambra State and somebody will become the new governor of the State. Either some miscreants or sit-at-home enforcers like it or not, a democratically elected governor will be sworn in to rule the State for the next four years. Alaigbo in Anambra State already knows the number of security agencies that will be deployed to the State in addition to those that are there already.

Nobody should ever test the resolve of the Federal Government by issuing threats. The government has the responsibility to protect the lives and properties of people and most importantly ensure the safety of people during elections. When people know they are secure, they will come out and vote for their right candidate as the governor of the state. Then the violent mongers will be put to shame.

Since 2015, the Nigerian government has always accused IPOB of having arms during their said peaceful protest than with flag but no one believes them, in some cases, they have been accused of attacking the military during the protest but we didn't believe. But with what is happening now it is obvious they have been violent before now just that they lack enough arms to carry out their nefarious activities.

Why enforcement, maiming, and wanton destructions to people that choose to go out in the name of sit-at-home? They have the Taliban-like style of attacking others with different opinions. But they can never be successful in disenfranchising people from voting for the rights which the federal government will ensure.

In conclusion, people will troop out that day to vote for their candidate and the winner will be sworn in. Because anybody that tries to snatch ballot papers or prevent INEC officials from carrying out their civic responsibility will be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
