Joy vs Akpabio NDDC Saga; 8 or 81 Billion? Who's telling the truth?

The battle brawling between NDDC former acting Chairperson; Joy Nunieh and the NDDC president; Godswill Akpabio is popping up more saga and the tempo tends to be highten by each passing day.

Just yesterday (16th July 2020), it was mainstream news that there was an attempt to forcefully take Dr. Nunieh out of her home but for the intervention of the Rivers state governor; Wike who was prompt to the rescue.

Dr. Joy Nunieh has allegedly revealed many not-so-pallatable misdeeds that she was almost forced to perpetrate during her tenure as the acting governor of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) which includes signing budgets for projects that were not executed, allocating money for same contract to several contractors simultaneously, being compelled to take an oat against her will, etc. She repeated all these allegations and some more shocking revelations during her probe by the House of Assembly which she attended remotely. Upon these allegations she asked that Godswill Akpabio be tried.

Akpabio in an earlier statement said he had relieved Dr. Joy of her duties on the grounds of insubordination and inability to tender her NYSC discharge certificate which she swore an affidavit to have lost it.

She said throughout her regime as acting Managing Director of NDDC, she had spent only 8 billion Naira on projects execution yet the NDDC presented an expenditure of 81 billion Naira to the house.

The big questions:

- Is Dr. Joy's insubordination accusation same as her refusal to cooperate in looting?

- If the NYSC discharge certificate is a prerequisite for being NDDC chairperson/MD, why was Joy appointed in the first place?

- where did the 71 billion naira additional expenditure on the NDDC expenditure come from?
