3 Things Late Yar'Adua Did During His Tenure As President Of Nigeria

Below are the three things he did.

1: Yar'Adua increased the salaries of the armed forces.

A few months after taking power, Yar'Adua approved a pay raise for the Armed Forces. This was done in order to boost morale and security among Nigerian soldiers.

2: He agreed to grant amnesty to the Niger-Delta Militants.

Yaradua approved amnesty to put an end to the Niger-Delta region's deadly militant activities. More than 10,000 militants surrendered after the late President unconditionally pardoned them.

3: Yar'Adua reduced petrol prices during his tenure.

Almost every Nigerian president since Yakubu Gowon has increased the price of petrol, including Murtala Mohammed, Shehu Shagari, Ernest Shonekan, and Olusegun Obasanjo.

However, Yaradua reduced the price of a liter from N75 to N65 in Nigeria.

That was one of his greatest achievements during his tenure.

Sadly, he passed away before he could complete his tenure as the president of Nigeria. Nigerians will always remember him for his good leadership.
