For almost six years ago, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been looking for a way of getting back the lost mantle of leadership in the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja since the party was defeated in the year twenty fifteen presidential election which brought in President Muhammadu Buhari.

A lot of political parties conspired against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the year twenty fifteen presidential election when some political parties joined forces together with the aim of unseating Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in the government. Since that time, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been trying to reclaim the presidency power back but all attempts taken by the party have been proved abortive.

The next presidential election which has been scheduled to hold in the next two years will be another golden opportunity for the opposition party to stand up in order to achieve the aim of getting back the power of leadership in the country. With the current situations on ground, there are a lot of expectations that things would be dramatic politically in the year twenty twenty three presidential election.

The Igbos have been craving for a seat in the presidency office for a very long time and it is going to be of favour for the opposition party to use an Igbo politician as the flag bearer of the party. The region had said to have been marginalized when it comes to the post of president in the country and for the sake of equity and justice, the next presidential aspirant for the PDP should be Igbo.

An Igbo politician with his followers

Most of these Igbo politicians have been trying to settle things with stalwarts in each of the political parties in other to fulfill their political ambitions in the year twenty twenty three presidential election. The PDP would be popularly voted for in the year twenty twenty three if the party makes any of these Politicians its party's candidate for the upcoming presidential election:

1) Chibuike Amaechi

The former Governor of Rivers State was once a core member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before he defected in the year twenty fifteen presidential election. He defeated alongside with Atiku Abubakar and Bukola Saraki because they were not interested in some policies made by former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

Apart from the fact that Amaechi is a good politician who is solidly behind the ruling party currently, he is also a philanthropist who gives financial support to those who need it in the Southeastern part of the country.

If the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus should try and persuade Rochas Okorocha to come back to the PDP and run for the Presidency, the PDP will likely the next coming presidential election.

2) Rochas Okorocha

Just like Rotimi Amaechi, Rochas Okorocha has been a member of the two prominent political parties in Nigeria. He has experiences when it comes to National politics.

If the PDP could give him a chance by persuading him to join the moving train of the opposition party just to fight for Igbo Presidency, the PDP will have upper hands in the election.

3) Peter Obi

I don't have to emphasize muchly on the reasons why Peter Obi should be chosen as the PDP's flag bearer in the upcoming presidential election which will be in the next two years. Peter Obi was once a running mate with Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 presidential election. He should know what it is to be the president, he would be supported massively.

4) Eyinna Abaribe

If we are to compile the list of those senators that are active and vibrant representatives in the house, Senator Eyinna Abaribe should be applauded for that. He has been the one criticizing the ruling party when it comes to the issue of insecurity and bad governance for a very long time.

The PDP will have nothing to lose if Senator Eyinna Abaribe should be considered to the flag bearer of the party in the next presidential election.
