The new political party that was floated, Rescue Nigeria Project (RNP), is still at a developing stage and has not been accepted by Nigerians. Nigerians are waiting for them to announce their key positions such as Chairman of the party and other party executives. The party as the name implies was formed to rescue Nigeria from the decay in government.
The party was formed by powerful politicians like the former governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdul Fatah Ahmed, former INEC Chairman, Attahiru Jega, Prof. Pat Utomi, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, and former Cross River governor Donald Duke, Senator Lee Maeba, Usman Bugaje, Amb. Nkoyo Toyo, Yomi Awoniyi, Dr. Rose Idi Danladi, Dr. Sadiq Gombe among others. All these politicians that make up the political party are scheming for political relevance in the political space in Nigeria.
There are two powerful politicians in the party that can defeat Tinubu and Atiku in the 2023 Presidential election.
1. Attahiru Jega.
A very popular politician in Nigeria who has served as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Nigeria. A position that made him well-known to many Nigerians. If the new party chooses Jega as its presidential candidate from 2023, it will be big trouble for Atiku and Tinubu. The reasons are that many Nigerians believed in the capabilities of Jega than them and most Nigerians have been clamouring for technocrat/politician as Nigeria's President. It is a fact that Nigerians will trust Jega to other candidates if he is chosen.
2. Donald Duke.
A very popular politician also, who is well-known among Nigerians. Donald Duke has nursed the ambition of becoming the President of Nigeria since when he was the Governor of Cross River State. He is very popular among Nigerians for his developmental projects when he was a Governor. If he is presented as an RNP presidential candidate, he might defeat Atiku and Tinubu.
