Anxiety as Supreme Court hears Adeleke, Oyetola case today

The Supreme Court is set to hear the case of Governor Ademola Adeleke and Adegboyega Oyetola over the duly elected governor and winner of the Osun gubernatorial election of July 16, 2022, today.

DAILY POST recalls that Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Challenging the victory at a tribunal led by Justice Tertse Kume-led, which sat in Osogbo, Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was pronounced duly elected governor against the declaration of INEC.

Obi Visits Soyinka

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has visited Prof. Wole Soyinka following recent exchanges between the Nobel Laureate and Obi’s supporters referred to as the Obidients.

Announcing his visit to Soyinka in a tweet on Sunday, Obi said it was “intended to erase the needless misconceptions about the relationship between the great icon and the OBIdient family.” The former Anambra State governor said Soyinka’s “reputation as a fighter for justice and equity in our society has been legendary and we will NEVER ignore them”.

The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal has postponed the hearing of the petitions filed by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar and the Allied Peoples Movement.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that the hearing of the petitions would begin today (Monday) and that security had been beefed up around the venue in Abuja.

The Independent National Electoral Commission had declared Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress as the winner of the February 25 presidential election.


Kidnapped Imo Bizman Found Dead In Anambra After N10M Ransom Payment

An Imo State businessman, Mr Ikechukwu Ebelebe, has been found dead two weeks after he was reportedly kidnapped by gunmen in his hometown in Owerre-Akokwa in Ideato-North Local Government Area of Imo State.

It was gathered that his corpse was found by villagers where it was dumped in a locality in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State and the lifeless body was thereafter deposited at a morgue where it was identified by the police operatives on Saturday.

This is coming after the yet-to-be-identified assailants had reportedly collected N10m ransom from his family.
