EDO DECIDE 2020: Meet The Two Female Governorship Aspirants

The first tenure (four years) of the current Edo State Government is expected to expire on 11th, November, 2020. Hence, about fourteen (14) political parties have been given a nod to participate in the forthcoming elections in the state, scheduled for September 19th, 2020.

Among the fourteen candidates for the gubernatorial race are two women. Here, is a little about them:

1.

Mabel Akomu Oboh: The flag-bearer of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mabel Akomu Oboh was born on the 18th of April, 1864 (56 years). Studied Criminology at Buckinghamshire New University (Diploma).

Presently, married to Michael Ini Udoh. She is blessed with three sons from her previous marriage. 

She is an entertainer (Broadcaster, Producer and Actress) working with NTA. As a successful career woman, she was the pioneer of telemovies on NTA and the second female producer in Nigeria. In the 80’s, she was NTA correspondents in Governors' office.

Her love for humanity gave birth to “Mabel Oboh Centre for Save Our Stars (MOCSOS). MOCSOS is a Non-Governmental Organization established with the core aim of catering for Nigerian entertainers with critical medical conditions and financial difficulties.


2.

Agol Ebun Tracy: The flag- bearer of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), was born on the 26th of April, 1972 (48 years). She is a West African Examination Council Certificate (WAEC) holder.

Pastor, Ambassador, Ebun Tracy Agol, is a successful trader and politician. She has been a two (2) term Chairperson of Inter- Party Advisory Council in Nigeria.

Contested for governorship on the platform of People’s Party of Nigeria (PPN) in 2016 Edo State Election.


Will any of these two outstanding female politicians be given a chance to lead Edo State?
