
Due to the attacks by unknown gun men in rallies of political parties which left many vehicles ablaze and over four people dead, the Anambra state Commissioner of police Mr. Tony Olofu has ordered all political parties that will be participating in the Anambra Governorship election to submit the venue for their rallies in order to provide adequate protection. DSP Toochukwu Ikenga who is the state police public relations officer confirmed the order saying that the submission of venues to the police command will help in providing safety protocols to people who will attend the political rallies.
He said that when the venues are provided, police men would be deployed to strategic units in order to protect the citizens from attacks. The tactical teams which would ensure the that law and order is kept would be carrying out traffic control, surveillance and security patrol. The police patrol will prevent gun men from attacking the people.
