Muhammadu Buhari is a politician, retired Major General. He has been the president since 2015. Buhari's government is no doubt one that has faced turbulent times and has many critics, he however has also had many successes and we are going to take a look at some of them. His government is one that is keen on curbing corruption, eradicating poverty by promoting agriculture and entrepreneurship.
During the Buhari's administration, he cut down on importation of agricultural products in order to enable self sufficiency in food consumption and production.
He approved the re- capitalizing, repositioning and restructuring of the Bank of Agriculture.
The bank of Agriculture has been strengthen for improved and better delivery services.
He successfully ensured that the national irrigation strategy and policy becomes developed and the irrigation challenge is successfully dealt with.
He made provision for agricultural funds in order to finance the production of ginger, soybeans, rice, maize and wheat in parts of the state such as Zamfara, Kebbi and Niger etc.
During his reign he made provision for fertilizers and the fertilizer market is growing rapidly.
It might interest you to know that during the Buhari administration, Nigeria's milled rice production has increased by 60% from 2.5 million MT to 4 million MT in 2017.
All these and more are the amazing things the Buhari's administration has been able to achieve. We hope he continues to get better and do more. Nigerians are grateful for these achievements and it will not be at all forgotten.
