As the next governorship election in Ekiti State draws nearer, the Peoples Democratic Party may be warming up to defeat the All Progressives Congress and re-launch itself to power again. Recall that PDP lost to APC in the last gubernatorial election that was held in the state.
In other to boost the party's chances of winning, strong and credible political candidate is required. In view of this, I have identified two political gladiators that are likely to boost PDP chances of winning in the next gubernatorial election.
1. Senator Abiodun Olujimi: She is currently the senator representing Ekiti South constituency. She is also the deputy minority whip of the senate. Mrs Olujimi is considered a strong politician who has the required experience to lead the state. Among the highly respected female politicians in Nigeria, Abiodun Olujimi is one. She can easily canvass suport and votes for the party come 2022. This is because of her knowledge of grassroot politics. If the party can consider her as their candidate, their chances of winning may be boosted.
2. Professor Olusola Kolapo Eleka: This is another strong man that may boost PDP chances of winning in 2022. He is a former deputy governor of the state during the second term of Ayo Fayose. Serving with his former boss gave him so much popularity. Apart from been a political pillar in the PDP, he is also an academician who can easily turn things around with knowledge and ideas. If the party can consider him as their candidate, their chances of winning may be boosted.
