Tinubu Sheltered Dariye In Lagos State, But In Return Dariye Endorsed Peter Obi – Sam Omatseye

In a post on his Facebook page, popular Nigerian novelist, Sam Omatseye, alleged that when former Governor Joshua Dariye was impeached it was the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu who took him in and gave him shelter, but in return Dariye endorsed Peter Obi of the Labour Party. He stated that when Dariye was impeached, he when to Makurdi in Benue State to seek refuge, but his search was to no avail. Dariye had to go to Lagos State and the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, then governor of Lagos State took him in and took care of him, but in return, he endorsed Peter Gregory Obi of the Labour Party.

He alleged that former Governor Joshua Dariye actions what was mused Simon Lalong to reveal this story from the past. However, Omatseye strongly believes that Dariye should have endorsed the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu instead of Peter Obi of the Labour Party.

He said, “The time we arrived at Jos, there was news flash that Dariye had been impeached by the time they had impeached Dariye, they didn’t look for us again. Dariye himself had fled. He was in Makurdi for a while, and later he went to Lagos and Asiwaju picked him and gave him shelter. Lalong mused that it was bad for conscience that the same Asiwaju was running for president, and Dariye was supporting Peter Obi of the Labour Party.”
