It was on 26 March, 2020 President Muhammadu Buhari ordered the closure of schools, mosques, churches, markets, banks to mention but few across the country due to coronavirus outbreak and to curtail the spread of the respiratory disease as a measure to prevent death.
However, the Federal government considered the gradual easing of lockdown after they realized the country's economy and other sectors could be jeopardized and of course the unending hardship; suffering and complains by the citizens
Nevertheless, the President has been called upon by the house of representative to partially declare school reopening across the country to enable certificate classes takes their Exams especially West African senior Secondary School certificate examination(WASSCE)
The lawmakers further stressed that,it will only show signs of weakness to international community and investors that Nigeria is incompetent to contained the spread of this deadly disease, therefore they Implore the Chief of the army forces, president Muhammadu Buhari to rescind the decision of the federal minister of education by suspending WAEC examination and other certificate classes till 2021.
Although earlier this month WAEC was rescheduled to take place 4th of August to 5th of September 2020. The law makers urged the federal minister of education Adamu Adamu to bring about health safety measures that can enable the students to write their Exams without exposing them to this killer virus as suggested by the NCDC.
This resolutions followed a motion that the proprietors/ authorities of various schools can handle the exam as long as they are able to follow and abide by the NCDC guidelines.
Consequently, if it happens schools is postponed until 2021, the country's economy and other sectors like private school staffers will be seriously affected, corruption, prostition, kidnapping stealing, hunger will also increase in the country and our children will be exposed and also liable to unwanted pregnancies and I.Q detoriation.
Personally I support the law makers, of what good does this idea of staying at home have on our children rather than resuming their daily activities afterall Coronavirus is no longer the way it was, we have lived with it for over 120days, and still living with it, lockdown has been lifted, Churches and Mosques now opens, ceremonies like birthday parties, weddings and burials are not exception yet very many of us has not seen or witnessed covid-19 patients neither have we heard of it from another close person all we keep seeing and hearing is numbers of infected people.
You can share this post if you find it enlightened so that those in support of the minister of education can see the errors of their ways if they postponed WAEC exams till next year 2021.
Muhammed splash news for real.
