The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore has vowed that it's members will not vote for any southern candidate who is against open grazing and the remittance of VAT to the Federal Inland Revenue Service should he or she run for president in 2023.
Southern governors have agreed to ban open grazing in their region. They have also joined Rivers and Lagos States in their decision to accept VAT instead of the Federal Government.

Spokesman for the group, Saleh Alhassan, who spoke on Tuesday during an online interview with PUNCH, said herders won't support anyone in agreement with the southern governors.

While insisting on their stand, Alhassan said, “Our concern is not where the President comes from but certainly we know those that we cannot support; those that want to destroy our means of livelihood, we would campaign against them.
Meanwhile, Miyetti Allah has described the ban on open grazing as satanic while claiming that it is politically motivated.
