The South Deserve 2023 Presidency - Shekarau Tells Northern Govs

A former Governor of Kano State, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau has told Northern governors that the 2023 presidency is supposed to return to the south.

He made this claim after Northern governors rejected the call by Southern governors for a power shift in 2023.

The Northern governors insisted that the demand by their southern counterpart is unconstitutional.

In an interview with Channels Televison on Monday, Shekarau said it would be unfair if another northerner succeeds President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

He called on Northern governors to heed to the call of their southern counterpart in the interest of justice and fairness to move the country forward.

Shekarau also called on the south to lobby their way out while noting that making their demands through threats might not yield any results.

Howbeit, the two major parties, All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are yet to zone 2023 presidency but that will happen in few months time.
