2023: Dino Melaye counters PDP Govs on direct primaries, gives reasons

Dino Melaye a former senator in the 8th national assembly has countered some governors who are agitating for indirect primaries in the 2023 general elections.

DAILY POST recalls that the Senate, after thorough deliberation by both chambers, recently passed the harmonized version of the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill, 2021 which allowed for direct primaries as a means of returning democracy to the people.

But some Governors of the opposition People’s Democratic Party, kicked against the move, calling on the lawmakers to reverse the law.

Dino, in a video on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday, backed the lawmakers, explaining that it is a better way to allow Nigerians choose their leaders.

Nigerian Musician, David Adeleke aka Davido on Wednesday displayed his bank account number on his social media pages begging his teeming supporters for support.

Davido, son of a billionaire father, who is alleged to be a billionaire himself, posted his bank details, pleading for funds from his fans

Writing on his Twitter page, Davido said he needs N100 million to clear his car from the port.

Shortly after the tweet, the singer revealed that he never knew he was loved and he had received N26 million.

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Wednesday presided over the Federal Executive Council meeting at the State House, Abuja.

This is coming a day after the President arrived Abuja from South Africa, where he attended the Intra-African Trade Fair at Durban.

Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity shared pictures of the FEC meeting which the President presided on at the State House.

Huge crowd as Sani Dangote is buried in Kano

The remains of late Alhaji Sani Dangote, the Deputy President, Dangote Group of Companies, was laid to rest in Kano on Wednesday, Nov 17, 2021.

The funeral prayer which was led by Imam Sani Muhammad and attended by thousands of Muslims was conducted at the palace of the Emir of Kano at about 11 a.m.

The Imam prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the sins of the deceased and grant him paradise.

The funeral prayer was attended by Senate President, Ahmad Lawal, Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika, Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje and Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado-Bayero.

Oduduwa University founder arrested over OAU postgraduate student's death

The Osun State Police Command has arrested Dr Ramon Adedoyin, founder of Oduduwa University and the Polytechnic, Ile-Ife, over the death of a master’s degree student of Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU.

Adedoyin is also the Chairman of Hilton Hotel and Resort, Ile-Ife.

It will be recalled that the deceased, Timothy Adegoke came from Abuja to sit for his examination at the OAU distance learning centre, Moro, Osun State on November 5.

Adegoke, declared missing on November 7, was found dead.

The police had earlier arrested six suspects linked to the death of the student.
