In his words he said, "Since February 2020, when the first case of COVID-19 was reported in Nigeria and subsequently in Benue, there have been several efforts and interventions from the administration of Gov. Samuel Ortom towards combating the pandemic and alleviating the sufferings of the people, which has been occasioned by a nationwide lockdown. I have carefully studied the situation and found out that with lingering issue of Covid-19, our people are still in need and experiencing untold hardship. This is why, in addition to the laudable interventions and efforts of Governor Ortom, I have decided to support my people in my own little way. Unfortunately, as of today, Covid-19 has no established cure. Though Scientist around the world are still working very hard to develop a vaccine for it, the best and most efficient way to avoid getting infected is by adhering strictly to instructions from Ministry of Health such as regular hand washing with soap under running water, wearing of face mask, maintaining social distance, sanitary practice among others".
