Goodluck Jonathan was the president of Nigeria from 2010 to 2015. He was also vice president of Nigeria from 2007 to 2010. He served as governor of Bayelsa state from 2005 to 2007.

Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is married to Dame Patience Jonathan and has four children, a boy and three girl, Aruabi, Ariwera, Faith and Abayola. Faith is the first daughter of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. She is a graduate of the University of Calabar. She got married to Godswill Osim Edward on April, 2014. The traditional weeding was held in Goodluck Ebele Jonathan's expansive compound in Bayelsa, while the church weeding was held at the international conference centre Herbert, Macaulay, Abuja.

The weeding of Faith Sakwe attracted very important dignities in all walks of life such as governors, ministers, service chiefs, royal fathers, business moguls and ambassadors. Faith and her husband, Edwin are blessed with beautiful children, making Goodluck Ebele Jonathan a grandfather. She was adopted by Goodluck Ebele Jonathan when she was small and she is their first child.
