Mr. Adams Oshiomole and Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu are now regretting their actions. On Saturday Mr. Akeredolu was at Ese Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State to convince the delegates to vote for him in the APC Primary Election.
While talking to the delegates, Mr. Akeredolu said that he regretted using Mr. Agboola Ajayi as his deputy governor in 2016. Both Akeredolu and Ajayi have been at loggerheads since the deputy governor defected from the APC to the PDP where he is jostling for the party ticket.
Mr. Akeredolu believes that his deputy betrayed him and he is regretting using Agboola Ajayi. But Akeredolu should bear some things in mind.
In 2016 Agboola Ajayi betrayed the same PDP. The political party needed the support of Agboola Ajayi so as to maintain power as the ruling party in Ondo State. But because of his own ambition, Agboola Ajayi left the PDP and he went to join the APC and Akeredolu's camp.
The PDP lost in the election, whereas both Rotimi Akeredolu and Agboola Ajayi smiled to victory. One thing is clear: Rotimi Akeredolu benefitted from disloyalty of Agboola Ajayi.
If Agboola Ajayi didn't leave the PDP, the party might coast home victory and retain power in Ondo State. But Ajayi left at a crucial time and gave his loyalty to the APC and Akeredolu.
So, Akeredolu shouldn't regret anything now. It is even bad for him to say he shouldn't have used Agboola Ajayi. In politics, trust matters a lot. A politician that moves from one political party can't be trusted. However, Akeredolu chose to trust someone who left his party at a very delicate time.
In a nutshell, Akeredolu should stop regretting and he should wake up to the reality.
The same thing is applicable to Mr. Adams Oshiomole. The former national chairman of the APC is regretting his decision to make Godwin Obaseki his successor.
It will be recalled that Oshiomole anointed Obaseki to take over as the Edo State governor in 2016. But with the situations of things now, both Oshiomole and Obaseki are at political war. While Obaseki is seeking re-election on the PDP platform, Oshiomole is backing Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu in APC.
Oshiomole shouldn't regret his actions too. How did John Odige-Oyegun feel when he was removed from the chairmanship of the APC?
There was a gangup against him by a faction of the party loyal to Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu. John Odige-Oyegun did all he could to save his job but the pressure on him was huge and he eventually bowed.
The irony of it was that Adams Oshiomole was used to replace Odige-Oyegun. It was ironical that Oshiomole couldn't defend Odige-Oyegun and his job.
Odige-Oyegun felt betrayed and regretted that the conspiracy that engulfed him involved his political brother from Edo State. If Odige-Oyegun felt bad, then, Oshiomole would feel bad now.
What do you think about Karma?
